THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister Suresh Gopi opined that the criticism of the Union Budget was purely political. The union minister said that he would call a presser in all the districts as per the directives of the central government. Suresh Gopi added that the 2026-27 budget was prepared with a long-term vision, envisaging what the country should be like in 2047.
“What has Kerala contributed to bring AIIMS? If the elections are postponed now, those raising criticism will go into hiding. There is only politics behind the criticism regarding the budget of the Government of India for the year 2026-27. Politics is being played to dampen the impact of the budget. A responsible explanation will be given on this issue.
This is the first budget of the second quarter of the 21st century. The Prime Minister envisions a developed Bharat in 2047. The budget assesses health, infrastructure and other issues that benefit people of different ages,” said Suresh Gopi.
Regarding the queries of AIIMS, Suresh Gopi reiterated his stance that AIIMS would definitely come to Kerala. He said it is the duty of the government to allocate land for the project. The Union Minister also expressed his desire to see AIIMS in Alappuzha.
