Leopard mauls four-year-old girl in Valparai, partially devoured body found

CHALAKUDY: The partially devoured body of a four-year-old girl killed by a leopard was found near Valparai. The body was found near a forest, 300 meters away from the incident spot.

The leopard dragged away the daughter of Jharkhand native Manoj Kunta and Rusini at 6:30 pm yesterday in Pachamalai Estate. The child was playing in the courtyard of the Tea Estate Quarters.

As per locals, the leopard entered the courtyard suddenly and dragged away the child in haste, even before the others could react. Tamil Nadu forest officials and workers had rummaged on the premises all night.
