ALAPPUZHA: A man’s leg was found on the track at the railway station Tuesday morning. It was found when the Ernakulam-Alappuzha MEMU train was removed from the track. The MEMU train reached Alappuzha at around 9 am Tuesday morning. The leg was found by the sanitation workers after the train was removed to the yard. On being informed, the police arrived. The police reached the spot and inspected the area. The police are also investigating whether the leg got stuck in the train after hit by it.

This is a MEMU train that runs from Alappuzha to Kollam, then to Kottayam and Shoranur, back to Ernakulam and then to Alappuzha. Since it is a MEMU train that runs through various districts, investigations are underway to see if anyone in other districts has been hit by the train and died. The body part is believed to be two to three days old.
