Man commits suicide after murdering wife undergoing treatment in hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man committed suicide after strangling his wife to death, who was undergoing treatment at Pattom SUT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. He has been identified as Bhasuran (73) of Karakulam. The murder was committed Thursday morning. The couple has two children.

After murdering his wife Jayanthi (62) undergoing dialysis, he jumped from the fifth floor of the building. He fell down near the stairs of the hospital. He was immediately admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but his life could not be saved.

Jayanthi, suffering from kidney ailments has been undergoing treatment in the hospital from October 1st. Bhasuran was with her in the hospital. He killed her with the cable used for charging electric bed. She was undergoing dialysis for about a year. Police said the family was facing a major financial crisis due to her treatment. This may have led to the murder.
