Minister seeks report after POCSO Case accused Mukesh M Nair attends School Praveshanolsavam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty has sought an immediate report for inviting the vlogger involved in the POCSO case as the chief guest for School Praveshanolsavam. Vlogger Mukesh M Nair was the chief guest at Fort High School in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.

The Kovalam police is investigating the case in which he is the first accused in a complaint lodged by the parents of a 15-year-old girl for filming her semi-naked pictures for a reel and touching her body without permission. The coordinator who brought the girl for the reel is the second accused in the case. Mukesh M Nair was granted conditional bail by the POCSO court.

He was invited as the chief guest and distributed prizes to the children who scored high marks in SSLC examination. The incident that tarnished the department's image during the inaugural function comes at a time when the department of public education is taking a strict stance, including removing teachers involved in the POCSO case from service. The school authorities explained that he was invited as the chief guest by an organization that came to distribute study materials to children.
