Missing youngster found dead in temple pond in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: A youngster’s dead body was found floating in the Thuravoor TD temple pond. Sampath (38), a native of Menassery, Pattanakkad, was found dead in the incident. On Monday morning, the youngster’s family had filed a missing complaint with the police. On Sunday, Sampath was detained by the temple staff and handed over to the police for trespassing into the sanctum sanctorum. The visuals of this have been released.

Sampath entered the temple on Sunday evening. The footage shows him being stopped by a crowd and questioned by the police. The man was taken into custody and later sent with family members. A case was not registered as Sampath's relatives said that he was mentally ill. However, on Tuesday, Sampath went missing again. He was found dead in the TD temple pond in Thuravoor this morning. The police launched an investigation into the incident.
