More stolen gold to be found, Unnikrishnan Potty to get into custody again 

PATHANAMTHITTA: The special investigation team is all set for further action in the case related to the gold theft in Sabarimala. The investigation team has informed that more stolen gold is yet to be found. A request will be filed to get Unnikrishnan Potty, who will be produced in the court tomorrow, back into custody. Potty's arrest will also be recorded tomorrow in the case of stealing gold after taking the door frame.

The arrest of Unnikrishnan Potty has been registered only in the case of smuggling gold-plated sheets of Sabarimala Dwarapalaka idols. The investigation team questioned and released Kalpesh, Vasudevan, Govardhan and Smart Creations CEO Pankaj Bhandari, who were under suspicion in the gold theft. It is indicated that they will be summoned for questioning again when Unnikrishnan Potty is taken into custody.

Meantime, the remand report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has clearly indicated that former executive officer and Adoor native D Sudheesh Kumar, who was arrested in the case, has a clear role in the theft. The report also says that Sudheesh Kumar, along with Unnikrishnan Potty and Murari Babu, conspired and planned to smuggle the gold.

The SIT arrested Sudheesh Kumar in two cases of stealing gold from the door frame and Dwarakapalaka idols of the Sabarimala shrine and remanded him for 14 days. The investigation team will submit an application tomorrow to get Sudheesh Kumar into custody for questioning and evidence collection, who was brought to the Thiruvananthapuram sub-jail. Unnikrishnan Potty and Murari Babu are remanded in the Thiruvananthapuram special sub-jail. Murari Babu will file a bail plea in Ranni Magistrate Court on Monday.
