THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla interacted with students from the International Space Station through an event jointly organised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office and NASA on Thursday.
The venue was VSSC in Thiruvananthapuram and the ISRO Centre in Lucknow. The programme held at VSSC was attended by around 100 students from Navodaya and Kendriya Vidyalayas, and around 100 students selected in the District Collector's Super 100 group.
Shubhanshu came on screen to talk to the students through a link, exclusively made to contact the Axiom 4 Mission Command. The programme was from 2.30 to 2.40 pm. The children's questions were given in advance. Only one student was allowed to ask a question to Shubhanshu due to the time limitation.
The event provided a thrilling experience for students; moreover, to discern the fact that someone was interacting with them from the International Space Station left many in amazement.
When asked by a student about how he manages to live in outer space and the possible changes in him, Shubhanshu resorted to a quirky reply, saying that the changes will be evident in the coming days.
Shubhanshu praised the growth in technological prowess among Indians and pointed to his life journey as an example of how dreams come true.
ISRO sources indicated that the details of the discussion have been handed over to the Prime Minister's Office and will be released later on the PM's X page.
