THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bigwigs related to accused Ananthu Krishnan in the Rs 1000 crore fraud, are under the lens of police. It is reported that Ananthu milked his good connections across the political spectrum to even take a photograph with the Indian prime minister.
It is reported that he met the Prime Minister during the program at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. It is learned that Saigram Executive Director KN Anandakumar facilitated the meeting. As the state coordinator of the Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust, he was granted a pass to meet the Prime Minister.
KN Anandakumar was the chairman and Ananthu Krishnan was the secretary of the NGO Confederation, a coordinating body of 200 organizations. Responding to the whole issue, Anandakumar said he was tricked into it by Ananthu and had zero know-how about the youngster’s shenanigans.
“Ananthu approached the NGO confederation a year after it was formed. We cooperated as it was a good project. It was agreed that the confederation would not be involved in economic transactions. I resigned from the top post of the confederation after sensing distrust in the transparency. St. Teresa's College Rt. Professor Beena Sebastian later took over.” Anandakumar also said that as the chairman of the confederation, he did not make a financial transaction of even one rupee.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Lali Vincent rejected Anandakumar's claim that it was she who introduced Ananthu to Anandakumar. Retired. Judge C.N. Ramachandran Nair also turned against Anandakumar saying it was Anandakumar who appointed him as the advisor of the NGO confederation, which he believes was a sly work to pretend authenticity to the whole network.
“When I came to know that the confederation was into public funding, I requested to be removed from the post.” said Rt. Judge C.N. Ramachandran Nair.
