N M Vijayan's daughter-in-law tries to end life; admitted to hospital

SULTHAN BATHERY: Former Wayanad DCC treasurer NM Vijayan's daughter-in-law, Padmaja, tried to end her life on Saturday. The young woman was admitted to a private hospital in Bathery after she slit her hand. Her health condition is said to be satisfactory. NM Vijayan and his son Vijesh committed suicide last year. Padmaja came forward recently against KPCC for failing in their promise.

Allegations:

Although a memorandum of understanding was signed with the party to settle all liabilities incurred by NM Vijayan related to party activities by June 30, nothing happened. Even though her husband Vijesh fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, none looked back. Nobody in the party came to offer help to settle the hospital bill for a man who dedicated his life to the party. It was only through the intervention of PV Anvar that Vijesh was discharged from the hospital.

“We have lost confidence in this party. Congress is no longer the Grand Old Party and has adopted a new style to sideline and ignore honest workers. Thieves and goons are now at the forefront wearing white khadis. Even the land where we live is mortgaged to the bank, and still nobody came to help us.” Said Padmaja.
