
THIRUVANTHAPURAM: The seventh Prem Nazir state print and visual media awards organized by Prem Nazir Suhruth Samithi- Areekkal Ayurveda Hospital have been announced. Kerala Kaumudi Kochi Chief Photographer N R Sudharmadas was selected as the best news photographer in the print media category. The award was given to the picture 'Son's Hands, Undying Hands', which shows the grief of the parents who came to see the youth after their brain-dead son's hands were attached to him, and the picture 'Kaattiloro Kaikkaruthal', which shows the view of the youth, who stopped the vehicle of a differently-abled person from skidding in strong winds.
Kerala Kaumudi Thiruvananthapuram reporter M Rafeeq was also selected as the best news reporter. The awards are for the reports on the following, ‘Gangs kidnapping passengers active, Keramthingum Keralanadu only in memories - development projects have not yielded results, and there is no demand for purified water and solid waste.
The media award for comprehensive contributions will be given to Prem Chand and the visual media award for comprehensive contribution will be given to Hemalatha, a former Doordarshan news anchor. Justice Kemal Pasha will distribute the awards at a function to be held at Bharat Bhavan in, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram at 5.30 pm on Kerala Piravi Day November 1.
