New showroom to open in Thiruvananthapuram Lulu mall; Minister Rajeev set to inaugurate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: For the first time in Kerala's history, a public sector undertaking is set to open a showroom in an international shopping mall. The Kerala State Coir Corporation is launching a Mattress Experience showroom at Lulu Mall in Thiruvananthapuram. The showroom will be inaugurated by Industries, Law and Coir Minister P Rajeev at 6 pm on July 10.

This 1000 sq ft showroom will showcase and market a wide range of mattresses, also providing a platform for marketing Kerala's unique coir products. Mattresses priced between Rs 5000 and Rs 2 lakh will be available here. The products of Kerala State Coir Corporation, which exports coir products to international industry giant Walmart, are of excellent quality.

Coir Corporation Chairman G Venugopal will preside over the function, and Coir Department Director Annie Jula Thomas will conduct the first sale. BPT Chairman Ajith Kumar, Coir Development Department Additional Director Anil Kumar, Coir Corporation Directors Rajesh Prakash, Anil Kumar KD, KL Benny and VC Francis will also participate in the function. Coir Corporation Managing Director Dr. Pratheesh G Panicker will express the vote of thanks.

It is hoped that the showroom will open doors for Kerala’s traditional market to garner global attention.
