Nine-month pregnant woman was sharing room with six, friends were not aware of her pregnancy

KOCHI: The statement of the 23-year-old woman who gave birth to a baby in a hostel in Kaloor has been recorded. The police informed that the woman gave a statement that she got pregnant from a youth hailing from Kollam. The Ernakulam North Police informed that no case has been registered as she did not file a complaint in the incident.

The woman was sharing a room with six people. Her friends said that they were not aware of her pregnancy. When she often showed physical discomfort, she cited some health issues and evaded her friends.

She gave birth to the baby in the toilet of the hostel near the Old Market Road early Sunday morning. She went to the toilet early morning and not seeing her even after a long time, her friends forcibly opened the door and found her lying in a pool of blood with the baby.
