Nipah: 571 people on contact list, 13 under treatment in isolation in Malappuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A total of 571 people are on the Nipah contact list in various districts, said Minister Veena George. 62 in Malappuram district, 418 in Palakkad, 89 in Kozhikode and one each in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts are on the contact list. 13 people are under treatment in isolation in Malappuram. One person from Malappuram district, 2 from Palakkad and 7 from Kozhikode who have completed the isolation period have been removed from the contact list. One person in Palakkad is under treatment in isolation. A total of 27 people in Kerala are in the highest risk category and 78 are under observation in the high-risk category.

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister Veena George. The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, NHM State Mission Director, Health Department Director, Medical Education Department Director, Additional Directors, District Collectors, District Medical Officers, Police Officers, and various department officials.
