No approval for new plus one batches; vacant seats to be reorganized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of General Education has announced that no new batches for Plus One will be permitted in the upcoming academic year (2025-26). This decision follows a report by the Director of General Education, which states there is no need for additional batches. Since the interests of the students are changing, after publishing the first phase of seats, batches with fewer students and vacant seats can be reorganized - according to the suggestion of the state-level committee, led by the Director. If more seats are needed after this process, the government will make a decision. The Department has also directed schools not to submit applications for new Plus One batches, as there are currently vacant seats in many districts.
