THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More details from the Vigilance report that gave a clean chit to ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar have emerged. The vigilance probe found no evidence to support the allegations against him. The investigation was ordered by the government following complaints made by former MLA P.V. Anvar. Although the Vigilance report was submitted earlier, the government had not made it public.

The probe focused on five allegations against Ajith Kumar, including tree felling at the Malappuram camp office, dropping the case related to Shajan Skaria, construction of a luxury house in Kowdiar, sale of a flat in Kuravankonam, and illegal wealth accumulation. The preliminary details from the report suggest that the vigilance investigation did not go beyond witness statements in these cases.

Meanwhile, the government had argued that releasing the vigilance report could affect Ajith Kumar’s privacy. The report was disclosed following a Right to Information (RTI) application. The clean chit given by Vigilance had earlier been rejected by the Vigilance Court. The court, while considering a petition filed by lawyer Neyyattinkara Nagaraju, examined the government-submitted report and found it incomplete, ultimately rejecting the clean chit.
