SULTHAN BATHERY: The two-day leadership camp of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee in Wayanad unanimously agreed not to allow leaders to publicly announce candidates at a whim. KPCC deemed such shows of vanity contributed to the party's previous defeat. There was also criticism against the parliamentary ambitions of the leaders.
The camp said it was unity and hard work that helped Congress achieve a good majority in the local body elections. Advice was given to workers to reach the grassroots. Leaders warned that if they proceeded with mudslinging, it would not be difficult for CPM to come to power again.
“The situation in Kerala is conducive for Congress. It is not wise to make public the details of the party meeting.” Congress leader Deepthi Mary Varghese alleged that the KPCC did not follow the norms in the Kochi mayoral election. 158 people are participating in the camp.
With the assembly elections approaching, the CPM is trying to raise unfounded allegations against Congress leaders. The renewed allegations against V.D. Satheesan are part of this. The leaders also criticised the government's move to transfer the case to the CBI. There was also criticism over CPM taking a soft approach instead of strongly opposing the BJP's misdeeds.
Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan will present a draft document titled Mission 2026 regarding the assembly elections on Monday. The UDF target is one hundred seats.
