No sale of liquor on these days in March, orders district collector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opening of liquor shops coming under the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation limits has been banned as part of Attukal Pongala. The district collector has ordered the ban on the operation of all liquor shops in all wards within the corporation limits and in the Vellar ward of Venganoor Grama Panchayat. The liquor ban will be from 6 am on March 2, the previous day of pongala, to 6 am on March 3, pongala day.

Meantime, the district collector has declared a local holiday for Attukal pongala which falls on March 3. All educational institutions and government and semi-government institutions in Thiruvananthapuram will have a holiday on that day.
