Northern districts to receive heavy rain; yellow alert issued in three districts tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that northern districts in Kerala will receive heavy rains in the coming days. A yellow alert has been sounded in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod districts today. Yellow and orange alerts have been announced in various districts in the coming days in the wake of the rain warning. IMD warned that there is a possibility of high waves and kallakkadal phenomenon on the Kerala coast and that extra caution should be exercised on the coasts of Kannur and Kasaragod.

Rain prediction in coming days

Orange alert
25-7-2024: An orange has been sounded in Kannur and Kasargod districts. Isolated places in these districts are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall. According to the IMD, extremely heavy rainfall means rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm in 24 hours.

Yellow alert

Wednesday: Kannur, Kasaragod
Thursday: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad
Friday: Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod
Saturday: Kannur, Kasaragod
