PALAKKAD: P K Sasi said that he will not join the UDF and that his resignation from the post of KTDC chairman is merely personal. He told media that there was no pressure, provocation or direction from anyone for his resignation. He also denied the news of holding talks with KPCC president in connection with the change of front.

His words
'What is the relationship between KPCC president Sunny Joseph and me? I have not spoken a single word to Sunny Joseph so far. If it is proven that I have spoken to any UDF leader about my change of alliance, I will do the work you ask me to do. I submitted my resignation from KTDC. I resigned before the end of my term due to personal issues. It is impossible to openly discuss all personal things with the media. I am still a member of the CPM. I am a person who works as an office bearer of a trade union organization. I have not taken any other decision yet. Can anyone say what will happen tomorrow? I am one who adheres to Left politics. You can see that in all my activities. It is rude to ask me if I will join the UDF. I am not aware of the rebel group in Kozhinjampara. I did not attend the jatha led by the party secretary because I was not feeling well.

Sasi resigned from the post of KTDC chairman this morning. He handed over his resignation letter to the tourism secretary. He had some differences of opinion with the CPM local leadership for the past few days. There were also indications that he would participate in the Congress programme the other day. A former Shoranur MLA, he is presently a party branch member. He was subjected to party disciplinary action twice. The CPM local leadership had earlier demanded that he be removed from the post of KTDC chairman. However, the state leadership did not do so.

It is indicated that Sasi's move is after holding discussions with the Congress camp. His name was heard in Shoranur and Ottapalam. Sasi was demoted in the party after allegations of harassment and financial fraud were levelled. P Sasi had formed a gathering supporting him and contested in many places in the recent local body elections. It is hinted that this was to ensure the defeat of the CPM.
