'Nothing but shrewd business'; MoS Suresh Gopi responds to Empuraan row

NEW DELHI: Actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi responded to the controversies surrounding Mohanlal’s new movie Empuraan.

“What is the controversy? Who created the controversy? Everything is business. This was nothing but a shrewd marketing gimmick made perfect by triggering people,” said Suresh Gopi.

The new version of Empuraan re-edited after being embroiled in controversies, will hit the theatres today (Tuesday). The re-censoring of the film was completed on Sunday. The reason for the delay in the film's release was the delay in completing the editing and mastering. The mastering work was done at Annapurna Studios, owned by actor Nagarjuna, in Hyderabad. It is reported that the new version will hit the theatres today. The old version will be screened in morning shows.
