Obscene language and threats against police officers including SI; DYFI activists stop police jeep in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DYFI activists in Nagarur blocked a police jeep and tried to attack the SI and policemen. The police had come today to serve notices to the DYFI activists involved in the incident of destroying the Congress flex board the other day. Enraged by this, the DYFI activists blocked the police vehicle and tried to attack the Nagarur SI and verbally abused the officials. The video footage that has emerged shows the DYFI activists behaving in an angry manner and senior activists trying to hold them back.

CPM and DYFI protests were held across the state following the incident in which Health Minister Veena George was injured. As part of this, Congress flex boards were destroyed, and some offices were attacked. A similar attack took place in Nagarur too. After the Congress flex boards were destroyed, the Youth Congress filed a complaint with the police. The police registered a case against DYFI workers in this case. There were attampted attacks on the police both when they were about to serve the notice and afterwards. However, the police have not registered a case in this incident.
