Opposition leader not invited for Vizhinjam inaugural function out of fear, says Chandy Oommen

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chandy Oommen MLA said opposition leader V D Satheesan was not invited for the inaugural function in Vizhinjam out of fear. In an interview to a media, Chandy Oommen said that if the opposition leader comes, he will reveal many realities and fearing this he was not invited.

Chandy Oommen said truth can be covered only for a short time and this is proof of the Oommen Chandy government's stand. The UDF will not boycott the function even if opposition leader is not invited.

Meantime, the government will give a rousing reception to San Fernando, the first cargo ship that arrived at Vizhinjam port, today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the function at 10 am. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonawal will be the chief guest. Minister V N Vasavan will preside over the function.

Ministers V Sivankutty, K Rajan, K N Balagopal, Saji Cherian, G R Anil, MPs Shashi Tharoor, A A Rahim, M Vincent MLA, Mayor Arya Rajendran, Director General of Shipping Shyam Jaganathan, Adani Group Managing Director Karan Adani, Pradeep Jayaraman, Vizhinjam International Seaport managing director Divya S Iyer will also attend. Chief Secretary Dr V Venu will deliver the welcome speech. Principal Secretary K S Srinivas will present the report.
