THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The assembly was adjourned following the uproar witnessed in the Sabarimala gold theft issue. The opposition protested by holding placards demanding the resignation of Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan. Both the fronts protested by singing parody songs. The opposition sang the song 'Pottiye Kettiye' in the house. The opposition members trooped to the well of the house holding banners after covering Speaker's seat.

The ruling party later trooped to the well of the house shouting slogans. The ruling party arrived singing 'Swarnam Kattathe Arappa, Congress Aane Ayyappa'. Minister V Sivankutty sang the song through a microphone. The ruling party alleged that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has a connection with Unnikrishnan Potty. Sivankutty said Sonia Gandhi has gold in her house and that she should be arrested and questioned. Parliamentary Affairs Minister M B Rajesh said that it is cowardly for the opposition to create a ruckus without giving notice for an adjournment motion in accordance with the house rules.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan said the devaswom minister should take over the responsibility and resign after the high court found serious irregularities in Sabarimala during 2024-25. Satheesan also clarified that the chief minister's office should stop putting pressure on the special investigation team. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that he believes that the opposition is not interested in convening the session. The chief minister said that it would be better to avoid tomorrow’s assembly session and instead convene it to Tuesday. With this, the Speaker informed that the house has been adjourned. Later, both fronts protested outside the house, shouting slogans.
