Owner killed by live wire while rushing to cow dead in lightning

ALAPPUZHA: The owner, who entered the shed to see his cow dead following lightning, died of electrocution. The dead is Ramakrishna Pillai (72) of Puthanthara, Vattakkattu, Elippakulam. He was electrocuted from the wire to the bulb in the shed. The incident happened last night at around 9:30 pm.

The cow died soon after struck by lightning. Hearing the sound, Pillai ran to the shed in the backyard. At this time, he came in touch with the wire connecting to the bulb tied to the roof of the shed. His daughter Sheeja, who followed him, had survived. Pillai, who was suffering from cancer, had been undergoing treatment for six years. Vallikunnam police have taken further action.
