P V Anvar, C K Janu, Kerala Kamaraj Congress included in UDF as associate members

KOCHI: The Trinamool Congress led by former MLA P V Anvar, the Democratic Political Party led by C K Janu and the Kerala Kamaraj Congress led by Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan will be included in the UDF. Opposition leader V D Satheesan while addressing the press said that it has been decided to make all three allied parties, the associate members of the UDF. The decision was taken at the UDF coordination committee meeting held today.

The Democratic Political Party and the Kerala Kamaraj Congress are presently are allies of the NDA. Satheesan clarified that both the parties have expressed their desire to join the UDF and the party's decision was taken after discussions on their written request. Bilateral talks between the allies will begin soon. It has been agreed to complete the seat sharing in January. The opposition leader informed that it was decided in the meeting that there should be no agreement with the CPM or the BJP to form a local government in the next elections.

Meantime, Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan has made it clear through a press conference that he will not join the UDF. He is presently the NDA vice chairman. He actively participated in the elections. He denies that UDF entry was discussed. If Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan has requested to join the UDF, it should be made public. There is a difference of opinion in the NDA. He is unhappy with the lack of due respect for the constituent parties. However, he clarified that he has the strength to resolve it.

C K Janu responded that she faced neglect from the NDA. The UDF is a front including everyone. Janu clarified that the UDF governments have done everything for the adivasis.
