WAYANAD: The driver and conductor of a bus scheduled to go to Pathanamthitta in the evening were taking a short break when the bus suddenly went missing, causing panic among everyone. After all, a missing bus is no small matter. Eventually, the bus was found, but from another depot, several kilometres away. The strange incident took place in Kalpetta, Wayanad, on Sunday evening.

The bus, which was supposed to leave for Pathanamthitta, went missing from Padichira in Wayanad while the driver and conductor were resting. Once they realised the bus was gone, the police were informed and an investigation began. Soon, there was relief when news came that the bus had been found. It turned out that a driver from the Sulthan Bathery depot had mistakenly taken the bus, leading to all the confusion.

Locals had told the police that they saw a KSRTC bus passing through Mullenkolly around 3:30 in the evening, which helped in tracing it. In fact, it was the same bus that was supposed to go to Pathanamthitta but had gone the wrong way. Authorities have now started the process of bringing the bus back to Padichira.
