PATHANAMTHITTA: The death toll in an autorickshaw accident in Karimanthodu Thumbakulam has risen to two. The deceased is Yadu Krishnan (4), who was missing after the accident but was found and taken to the hospital hours after the accident. A total of six children were in the autorickshaw at the time of the accident. Adi Lakshmi (8), a student of Sree Narayana Public School, had died earlier. Another child who was injured in the accident was shifted to Kottayam Medical College.

It was initially thought that Yadu Krishnan had reached home safely after the accident. However, the parents informed that the child had not reached home. A comprehensive search was started at the accident spot on the instructions of Konni MLA KU Janesh Kumar. The child, who was found hours later, was taken to the hospital but could not be saved.

The accident occurred at Karimanthodu when the driver swerved the auto rickshaw after seeing a snake. Initial information was that there were five children in the autorickshaw. All of them were admitted to various hospitals in Pathanamthitta. It was only after about an hour that it became clear that Yadu Krishnan was missing.
