Malayalees are familiar with what Thriuvananthapuram native Anoop, the lucky winner who got Rs 25 crore through the Onam bumper, went through after his win was made public. Apart from relatives and friends, even people from foreign countries came to Anoop's house asking for financial favours, leaving the youngster dazed.
Alappuzha native Sarath, who won the Onam bumper this time, is suddenly going through a similar inevitable phase. While talking to a YouTube channel, Sarath clarified that he will have to wait at least a month for the money to reach his account.
"Two or three people came to my house asking for help. They were strangers. I told them that the funds have not reached me yet. I have many things to do with the money. I also know a few people who are suffering due to a lack of funds. I will help them," said Sharath.
Sharath had earlier stated that his greatest fortune was the birth of his son, not the Onam bumper. Sharath said that his son was born after eight years of marriage, and only after years of prayers and treatment. Sharath, an employee at a paint shop in Alappuzha, won 25 crores on the Onam Bumper ticket TH 577825.
