KOTTAYAM: NSS registrar PN Suresh has resigned following the controversies in connection with Dr Shashi Tharoor MP inaugurating the Mannam Jayanthi conference. Though Suresh announced his resignation on Saturday, the NSS has not issued an official press release on the same. General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair, who accepted his resignation, also took charge as the registrar.

While on stage, Tharoor showed Sukumaran Nair on his mobile phone that the controversial remark 'one Nair cannot stand another' is in the news. The photo of Suresh peeking behind Tharoor appeared in many newspapers. There were accusations of Suresh's special interest behind this. A senior board member told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that Sukumaran Nair had demanded Suresh's resignation after several board members claimed that Suresh was behind the campaign on social media regarding him becoming the next general secretary. As per reports, the leadership has informed Suresh that he can accept either resignation or dismissal.
