Police should understand and adapt to changes in technology: DGP

THRISSUR: Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar said that new members of the police force must understand and adapt to the changes in technology. He noted that police officers now have to deal with issues ranging from cybercrime to cryptocurrency, and therefore, must constantly update their knowledge. He was speaking after receiving the salute at the combined passing-out parade held at the Thrissur Police Academy.

A total of 227 constables from the Fifth Armed Battalion and 187 women constables who completed their training at the Police Academy participated in the joint passing-out parade held yesterday.

Highly educated recruits
Among those trained at the Fifth Battalion, there are 28 postgraduates with degrees such as M.Tech, M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, and MBA; 146 graduates; and 53 with diploma or higher secondary qualifications. Among those trained at the Police Academy, there are 59 postgraduates with M.Tech, M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, and MBA degrees; 119 graduates; and 9 with diploma or higher secondary qualifications.
