Porter wins Rs 75 lakh lottery after buying ticket on credit

KULATHUR: Lady Luck seemed to smiled on a porter who was hesistant to buy a lottery at first, as he won the first prize after buying the ticket on credit. This lucky man is Babulal (55), a member of the CITU Attinkuzhy Union, who received the first prize of Rs 75 lakh for Sthree Shakthi Lottery. Yesterday morning, a lottery saleswoman who came to the union office, requested Babulal to buy one ticket as she was able to sell only very few tickets. When Babulal said that he does not have money in his hand, she handed over two tickets saying that he can pay the money later. This ticket won the first prize.

The woman buys tickets for sale from Dhanam Agency in Kaniyapuram. Belonging to a poor family, Babulal took care of the family at a young age through his work as a porter. His wife Sobhana works as a house help. The children are Arun and Ajayalal. The family of uncle, brother and Babulal live together in a 4.5 cents of land. The prize ticket number SE 989926 was handed over at Canara Bank in Kazhakoottam.
