PP Divya's senate membership: Governor seeks explanation from Kannur VC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The governor has sought an explanation from the vice-chancellor on the complaints regarding the continuance of PP Divya in the Senate of Kannur University. The governor's action came on a complaint filed by High Court advocate Kulathoor Jaisingh against Divya, who is in remand in the abetment to suicide case of ADM Naveen Babu. Divya was nominated to the senate by the government in the category of district panchayat president. Divya has to step down from the senate after resigning from the post of president. Jaisingh's complaint is that Divya continuing in the post is illegal and she should be removed from the Senate.
