"He convinced me that we could live together if I got a divorce. He called me to a hotel on April 8, 2024, saying that he wanted to talk about life. He tortured me brutally for three hours. He threatened me by mentioning that he is the Youth Congress president. He made me buy shoes and underwear at a high price. He belittled me when I told him that I was pregnant. He told me to go and get a DNA test. Rahul was not ready to give his DNA sample. After my miscarriage, Rahul started getting close to me again. He took Rs 10,000 from me during the by-elections, saying he could not afford to live. Rahul said he would buy a flat after becoming an MLA. I did not buy the flat because I did not have the money," the woman said in her statement.

The Chief Minister gave an urgent instruction to the DGP after hearing the emotional voice message sent by the complainant. In the message, the complainant had stated that Rahul's presence outside was a threat to her family and that she was very worried about the delay in the arrest.
