THRUVALLA: Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, suffered another setback in court in the third sexual assault case. Justice Arundhati Dileep of Thiruvalla Magistrate's Court denied bail to the Palakkad MLA. The defence will file the plea on Monday. Detailed arguments were heard for two hours in a closed courtroom on Friday. M G Devi appeared for the prosecution in the case.

The defence presented digital evidence, arguing that it was a consensual relationship. However, the prosecution's argument was accepted, and the bail was denied. The prosecution told the court that the defendant was a habitual offender who is now an accused in several similar cases of assault.

Advocate Sasthamangalam Ajith Kumar, appearing for Rahul Mamkootathil, argued yesterday that the accused is a person who always appears in court when requested and said that the case will not stand in court.

However, the prosecution, on behalf of the investigation team, opposed the bail plea yesterday, highlighting the possibility of the accused influencing witnesses and threatening the plaintiff.
