THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the unabated downpour in Kerala, the district collectors announced a holiday for educational institutions in seven districts on Friday. Collectors have announced holidays for educational institutions in Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Palakkad and Kasaragod districts.
With rain continuing fiercely with water logging reported in several areas, the Thrissur district collector informed that all educational institutions including CBSE, ICSE schools, professional colleges, tuition centres, residential institutions including Anganwadis, nurseries, and Kendriya Vidyalayas will remain closed.
District Collector VR Vinod has announced a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges in Malappuram due to continued heavy rains in Malappuram. The holiday applies to Anganwadis, Madrasas and Tuition Centres. There will be no change for previously scheduled public examinations and university examinations. Heads of educational institutions should take steps to adjust study time lost due to vacation.
District Collector DR Meghasree has announced a holiday tomorrow for educational institutions including tuition centres, Anganwadis and professional colleges in the Wayanad district. The holiday does not apply to residential schools.
