Rain, strong winds likely to lash in next three hours, two districts alerted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is predicted in the state on Friday. There is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places in Kannur and Kasaragod with gusty winds of less than 20 kmph in the next three hours. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in other districts.


The Centre has warned that rain will continue in the coming days. Yellow alert has been issued in Kannur and Kasaragod tomorrow and on Monday in Wayanad, Kannur and

Kasaragod. A chance of isolated heavy rain has been predicted. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

The department has informed that there will be no disruption to fishing in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts today. Gusty winds with gustiness of 45 to 55 kmph at occasional 65 kmph and bad weather conditions are likely over parts of south Bay of Bengal and central Bay of Bengal.


Gusty winds with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional 65 kmph are likely over western parts of Central West Arabian Sea, Southwest Arabian Sea, Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu coast and adjoining Kanyakumari region.
