THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Center for Oceanography and Oceanography (INCOIS) has informed that there is a possibility of 1.0 to 2.0 meter high waves and rough sea phenomenon along the Kerala coast from 2.30 pm today to 11.30 pm tomorrow. A red alert has been announced along the Kerala coast (Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam).

An alert has been issued for high waves and Kallakadal phenomenon along Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari coasts and Lakshadweep, Mahi and Karnataka coasts. Fishermen and coastal dwellers should exercise extreme caution as there is a possibility of storm surge.

1. As the rough seas are likely to intensify, stay away from the danger areas as per the instructions of the authorities.

2. Boats into the sea should be avoided during this time.

3. Taking fishing vessels out to sea during high tide and kallakadal phenomenon is dangerous. Therefore, it is important to avoid taking boats to the sea and anchoring at the stage of strong waves.

4. All activities including beach-oriented tourism should be completely avoided until the INCOIS warning is lifted.

5. Keep fishing vessels safely moored in the harbor. Keeping a safe distance between boats can avoid the risk of collision. Safety of fishing equipment should be ensured.
6. Avoid trips to the beach and activities at sea completely.
