THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court has granted permission to actor Siddique, who is out on bail in a rape case, to travel abroad. The travel permission has been granted from the 19th of this month to the 18th of next month to visit the UAE and Qatar. The action is by the Thiruvananthapuram First Class Judicial Magistrate Court.
The actress's complaint was that Siddique sexually assaulted her at the Mascot Hotel in 2016. The actress gave a statement to the police that she met Siddique when she came to the preview of a film at the Nila Theatre in which Siddique had acted. The victim added that the actor called her to the hotel under the pretext of a movie discussion and raped her. Siddique has admitted that he had met the complainant in Thiruvananthapuram. The Supreme Court had stayed the arrest of Siddique, who had gone absconding after the rape case came to light. Siddique, who was absconding, was released with the order of the Supreme Court after the High Court rejected his anticipatory bail.
