KOCHI: The High Court rejected the petition demanding a vigilance probe into Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter, Veena Vijayan, in the monthly pay-off scam. The High Court dismissed the petitions filed by Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA and Girish Babu.

The order was issued by a bench headed by Justice K Babu. The petition had demanded that the Vigilance investigate the huge financial transactions made between Veena Vijayan's firm Exalogic, and the Kochi-based mineral processing and value addition company, CMRL.

The Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court had earlier rejected this request. The petitioner, Girish Babu, died while the hearing was going on in the petition. Mathew Kuzhalnadan filed the petition with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others as opposing parties.

According to the petition, Exalogic, run by Veena, misused the CM post to receive monthly payments from CMRL.

Mathew Kuzhalnadan:

“As a citizen, it is my duty to fight against corruption. I have told the court things that I am 100 percent aware of. This is blatant corruption. I am not disappointed by the verdict. There is a need to study the verdict in detail.”
