THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for Kerala, forecasting thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in isolated regions over the next two days. The department has also cautioned that the state may experience intense rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour on April 3 and 4.
According to the weather forecast, rain is expected across all districts in Kerala today and tomorrow. Yellow alerts have been issued for various districts on April 3 and 4.
Yellow alerts:
April 3, 2025: Palakkad, Malappuram, Wayanad
April 4, 2025: Ernakulam, Thrissur
These districts have been issued yellow alerts, indicating the possibility of isolated heavy rain. The term 'heavy rain' refers to the expected rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours. Meanwhile, the IMD has stated that there are no restrictions on fishing along the Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts today.
