Relief from scorching heat; rain likely in two districts in coming hours, yellow alert in three districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rains are bringing temporary relief to the scorching heat in the state. The forecast says that there is a possibility of rain in two districts in the coming hours and the entire state of Kerala in the coming days. The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain with thundershowers at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts in the next three hours. A yellow alert has also been issued in three districts tomorrow. The yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts. The possibility of isolated heavy rain is predicted.

IMD has informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain with thundershowers and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts of Kerala in the next 3 hours.

01/03/2025: Yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts. Isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rain is defined as rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

Fishermen warned

IMD has informed that there is no restriction on fishing along the Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts today (28/02/2025). IMD has clarified that fishing should not be allowed along the southern Kerala coast on 01/03/2025 and fishing should not be allowed in the Lakshadweep area on 01/03/2025 & 02/03/2025.
