Reservation for differently abled; Govt with decisive move, court order applicable to all managements

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is for a decisive move in connection with the reservation for differently-abled in the appointment of aided school teachers. The court order in favour of the NSS will be applicable to the entire aided management. The government has got a favorable legal advice in this regard. Reports say the order will be issued soon. The order will be issued on the condition that the final decision is as per the Supreme Court verdict.

Many including the Christian managements stepped forward with strong protests against the strict stand taken by the government on the reservation of differently-abled issue. The government came forward with a persuasion move after this. If the order is issued, several teacher appointments that have been withheld will be approved. In the NSS case, the Supreme Court had directed that teachers be regularized in other posts except those that should be reserved for the differently-abled.
