THRISSUR: The High Court put a stay on toll collection at Paliyekkara Plaza for four weeks. The interim order was issued given the traffic congestion on the Edappally-Mannuthy National Highway. The order was issued by a division bench of Justice Muhammad Mushtaq. The High Court was considering a petition filed by Shaji Kodankandath.

In the petition, it was mentioned that the toll was being collected impudently without completing the construction of the underpasses and service roads in the nearby premises. This has severed the traffic snarl in the area. The National Highways Authority requested the court three weeks to resolve the traffic congestion. The court instead decided to put a halt to the toll collection until the tragic congestion in the area is resolved.
