PATHANAMTHITTA: Girish, the owner of the private bus 'Robin,' has obtained the bus back from the Motor Vehicle Department via a court order. The Motor Vehicle Department had seized the bus after it operated on the Pathanamthitta - Coimbatore route with the support of an All India permit. Girish said that the bus will start service from Pathanamthitta to Coimbatore in the next week itself. However, the MVD is of the position that a bus with a tourist permit will not be allowed to operate as a stage carriage by picking up people from each stop.

Girish is firm in his decision that his bus will operate by displaying a board and picking up people from the bus stand as it did before. "Some repair works need to be done on the bus. After that, the bus will resume service in the coming week itself. I am not afraid of anyone as I have faith in the legal system," Girish said.

However, the MVD said that it would seize the bus again if it violated the law.

On October 16, the bus was travelling from Pathanamthitta to Coimbatore when the MVD officials stopped it in Ranni for inspection. After carrying out the inspections, the officials took legal action and took the bus into custody. The bus was then shifted to the Ranni police station.
