KOZHIKODE: Two policemen were named as accused in Malaparamba illegal sex racket case that was concentrated inside an apartment in the city premises. Police drivers Shaijith and K Sanith were named as accused. One is in vigilance while the other is a driver of the control room vehicle. An investigation was launched against the two policemen based on information received from the phones of the earlier arrested culprits.

Nimish, who rented the building, was named as an accused in the case. There are a total of 12 accused in the case. The investigating officer submitted a report in the court on the incident.

Bindu, a native of Wayanad, Abhirami, a native of Idukki, and Upesh, a native of Karuvanthuruthy, were arrested by the Nadakkavu police the other day in connection with the sex racket case. In 2022, the Police issued a notice to Bindu in a similar case and even warned her not to be involved in this illicit business again. It is believed that the two accused police officials established contact with Bindu during this time.

The investigating officers also received documents showing the police officers making financial transactions with the main accused in the sex racket. The police officers were caught after examining the phone records of the main accused.

In the questioning session held the other day, the accused admitted to receiving help from abroad to run the illicit business ring. It was found that the accused policemen were directly involved in running the sex racket.
