THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government decided to grant three months' honorarium to ASHA workers, who are protesting day and night in front of the secretariat. The amount to be paid as honorarium for June to August was granted in advance. The National Health Mission State Mission Director had requested the government to grant a six-month amount in advance.
The amount allocated by the government to NHM is usually distributed to ASHAs. The government allocated the amount in such a way that 26125 ASHA workers in the state will get Rs 7000 per month. ASHA workers are protesting in front of the secretariat, demanding that the current amount be increased, in addition to providing them with honorarium without any arrears.
