THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will record the statement of UDF convener Adoor Prakash in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. The statement will be recorded to determine whether the Congress leader harboured any friendship with Unnikrishnan Potty, the main accused in the case.

Adoor Prakash was seen in the photo of the meeting between Potty and Sonia Gandhi. Adoor Prakash's recent travel to Delhi will also be investigated. Today, the SIT is taking Potty into custody for a day. It is reported that clarification will be sought regarding his meeting with Sonia Gandhi.

Last Saturday, a special investigation team questioned former Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The questioning was conducted surreptitiously. Kadakampally, Devaswom Minister in 2019, was summoned to a secret centre at 11 am on Saturday and questioned for three hours. Kadakampally is now the Kazhakkoottam MLA and a CPM state committee member. The questioning of the former minister gave clear indication that the three month long investigation will now extend to those within the government.
