THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One more person has been arrested in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case. The arrested person is former Thiruvabharanam Commissioner K. S. Baiju. He is the seventh accused in the case. The arrest is related to the smuggling of the temple’s dwarapalaka metal plates. This is the fourth arrest related to the Sabarimala gold theft case.

Baiju was not present on July 19, 2019, when the plates were removed. The Thiruvabharanam Commissioner is responsible for all valuables, including gold, under the Devaswom Board. According to reports, Baiju stayed away intentionally as part of a plan made by the main accused.
