PATHANAMTHITTA: N Vasu, who was arrested in the Sabarimala gold theft case, has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. He was produced before the Pathanamthitta Magistrate Court, which remanded him until November 24. Reports say he will be shifted to the Kottarakkara sub-jail. N Vasu is the third accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The special investigation team had questioned him a few days ago.

The investigation team found that during Vasu’s term as Devaswom Commissioner, gold was falsely recorded as copper. Statements given by the arrested Devaswom Board staff also went against him. For the past two days, the special team had been questioning him. When investigators asked about the changes made to official records, Vasu had no clear answer. He was called to the office at Eanchakkal today, questioned again, and formally arrested.

So far, Unnikrishnan Potty, Murari Babu, and Sudheesh Kumar have been arrested in the case. Both Murari Babu and Sudheesh Kumar stated that all actions were done with Vasu’s knowledge. Former Thiruvabharanam Commissioner Baiju also gave a statement against Vasu. Sudheesh Kumar, who was arrested earlier, had worked as Sabarimala Executive Officer and later as Vasu’s personal assistant. Vasu had served as Devaswom Commissioner twice.
